We would like to welcome Matthew as the new owner of Street Corner Café.
A little bit about Matthew……. Matthew’s background started many years ago in Food and Beverage and over recent years has been in senior positions as a Hotelier and managing remote resorts in Fiji, Vanuatu & Broome. His home-base has always been Palm Beach and his family have lived here for 50 years. He brings with him experience in these fields along with loving people and a great taste for coffee! When he is not at work he loves spending time at the beach with family.
What plans do you have with the business?
Matthew had been looking for a café for about 6 months and apart from the coffee (which is what made him buy this particular coffee shop) he lives nearby at Palm Beach and loves the Southern Gold Coast. He wanted to buy an already established coffee shop with great staff and hence has kept the current staff which is awesome – thanks Matthew 😊. Opening each morning at 5:30am for coffee – There will be only a few tweaks and small additions to the menu at times but overall he loves it the way it is and so do we – ha ha!
How do you like to spend your spare time?
Currently he is a workaholic (like most small business owners) but when he has the time he likes to spend time with family at the beach and he has a 7yr old son so that keeps him busy. He also loves riding his bike and promises to spend some more time surfing when he can.
